National Run @ Work Day | September 21, 2012

In the United States, employees spend an average of 40 hours a week at work, which is significantly more time than most of us spend with family and friends. What?s more, during the workday hardly any time is spent getting our heart rates pumping or stimulating our minds with human interaction. Seldom do we get to know our coworkers, you know the ?strangers? we?re around for 40+ hours each week.

Like many companies that have sprung up in the last decade, Hyperwear values an open culture. A company?s culture says who they are and what they value, and those values guide how employees interact. Everyone from the CEO to the summer intern is treated with the same respect and as a valued member of this growing, prospering family. We believe in camaraderie and value the opinions of every employee. We also believe innovation comes from everyone?not a single voice.

Hyperwear believes an employee?s happiness is crucial to developing innovative products. As a health and fitness company we strive to bring products that work to the health, sports, training, physical education and fitness markets. The first step to bringing great products to market is having a team committed to our goals and feels open to offer their opinions, insights and ideas, ultimately leading to better products for YOU.

From the open floor plan, to the staff lunch get togethers, to the team building workouts?

Our gym is fully loaded with weights, pull up rig, sandbells, and weight vest.

?our dedication to our employees? mental and physical health and happiness is evident.

Why bring up our company culture? Friday, September 20, 2012 is National Run @ Work Day ? a great opportunity for team building, brainstorming, and reinventing.

How To Get Employees/Coworkers to Participate:

    1. Send out an email, post a note where employees gather, or spread the word in person.
    2. Set up a place to meet and time to start the run (before work, at lunch, or after work).
    3. Just start moving! Sometimes all people need is someone to lead!

Running is a great way to get to know people. Get coworkers to start running together and motivate each other. Forming better relationships with your coworkers can make your workday more enjoyable and affect your overall outlook. National Run @ Work Day can be the beginning of a weekly running group that promotes camaraderie at work.
